Lin Mo, married to Su Xiao for three years, is at his wits' end—his wife is obsessed with a half-human-sized teddy bear, hugging it while eating, sleeping, even ditching their wedding anniversary for it. When he pries it open, he collapses—it’s Su Xiao’s late-stage pancreatic cancer diagnosis from three months ago, and a video of her, skeletal yet smiling: “Mo Ge, I was scared you’d be lonely. I put our movie tickets, the glass marble you gave me… everything into the bear. Hug it when you miss me.” Lin Mo holds the torn bear, sobbing until dawn, realizing his wife’s “obsession” was a final, life-giving warmth.
