The King of Songs Returns: For the Glory of Chinese Music
The King of Songs Returns: For the Glory of Chinese Music Plot:
Lin Qiusheng, the "King of Chinese Music" who retired 20 years ago, had long been living a quiet life running a small teahouse in an ancient Jiangnan town, far from the music industry—until eight foreign singers came to China for a concert and openly mocked Chinese music as "utterly tacky". Holding his old Golden Melody Award trophy, he stayed awake all night. The next morning, he dug out his dusty microphone and stood on the square outside the concert venue, singing "Melody of Huaxia" a cappella. The moment his voice shattered the stage speakers, everyone remembered: Twenty years ago, this very voice took Chinese music to the world's peak for the first time. Now, he's back—to fight for the glory of Chinese music once more.
