Lin Chuan, who stayed up all night to clear a survival game, wakes up in a fog-shrouded forest— a system pop-up glares: "20ml of drinking water = 1 unit of wood". He thinks it's immersive VR, until his lips crack from thirst and he sees the reality: a day's tree-cutting only gets enough water to moisten his throat. Then, Su Xiao, covered in blood, rushes over with a knife, screaming "Give me the wood, my brother is dying of thirst"— but in the next second, a "shadow" from the mist pounces on her back and snatches the last half-piece of wood. Lin Chuan finally understands: survival here is never "exchange", but "competition", and what's scarier than thirst is the "resource thieves" hiding in the mist...
