The Unseen Snow of That Year Plot:

On a snowy night ten years ago, Su Wan and Lin Shen made a promise at an old chestnut stall in the alley: to share hot chestnuts every first snow. But Lin Shen disappeared the next day. Every winter since, Su Wan has waited at the stall. This year’s first snow, a man holding the same chestnuts appears—wearing Lin Shen’s silver bracelet, he says the secret line only they knew: “Chestnuts taste sweeter when捂 in a scarf.” When Su Wan demands the truth, the man hands her a yellowed letter: Lin Shen had leukemia ten years ago and hid to avoid burdening her. The man is Lin Shen’s brother, here to fulfill his brother’s promise. As snow falls, Su Wan holds the letter and sees, under the streetlight, a boy in a dark blue coat—just like Lin Shen—waving a bag of chestnuts, smiling as he used to.
