The General's Little Lady (Mini-Series) Plot:

Gu Zhao, the cold-faced general who returned from the battlefield, was ordered by the emperor to marry Shen Xiaoman, a naive and sweet young lady from a merchant family. Xiaoman entered the将军府 (General's Mansion) fearing she would “die in the General's house,” only to find that the rumored “wife-killing Yama” would secretly leave a glass lamp by her bedside when she was afraid of the dark, hide jujubes from the border in his sleeve for her, and even turn down an urgent military report to spend her birthday with her. Gu Zhao never imagined that his heart, hardened by war, would be warmed by this little girl who always stuffed osmanthus cakes into his arms and called him “Brother General” while chasing him. When rumors of “the General killing his wife” spread again in the capital, Xiaoman blocked Gu Zhao at his tent with a newly embroidered safety amulet: “I don't want to marry a powerful general—I want to marry Gu Zhao, the man who warms my hands!”
