Su Wan, an investigative journalist,’s archaeologist father vanished mysteriously while searching for the ancient “Serpent Shadow Jade.” Following his notes, she tracks down a remote village on the border, only to be repeatedly blocked by Gu Shen, a cold-faced tomb guardian—who insists the jade holds a “serpent spirit” that brings disaster. Yet Su Wan discovers Gu Shen’s clan also disappeared because of the jade’s secret. From enemies to allies, they unravel that the serpent pattern on the jade is actually a water source code guarded by the ancient clan for a thousand years, and a behind-the-scenes consortium is trying to steal it to monopolize the local water. To her shock, her father’s “disappearance” was a deliberate infiltration into the consortium to protect the jade, and now his life hangs in the balance… As the serpent shadow glows under the moonlight, truth and danger close in together.
