The West Wind Breaks Our Eternal Vow Plot:

Su Wan, owner of an embroidery workshop, made an eternal vow with Gu Zhao, a frontier general: "On the Autumnal Equinox, under the old locust tree, we'll trim the candle wick together." But Gu Zhao has been gone for ten years, leaving only the west wind blowing locust leaves through the empty tree shadow year after year. This Autumnal Equinox, just as Su Wan sets out the warm wine, a man in dark clothing stands under the tree—he clutches Gu Zhao's old jade thumb ring and says, "General Gu asked me to pass a message." But when the man looks up, Su Wan sees the mole at the corner of his eye, exactly the same as Gu Zhao's at seventeen. Suddenly, the wind carries a familiar ink scent, and the man's voice trembles: "Wanwan, I remember the osmanthus cake we buried under the locust tree..."
