The Elegy of Unrequited Sandalwood
The Elegy of Unrequited Sandalwood Plot:
Tan Wan, a concubine's daughter of the prime minister's mansion, hid her poetic talent for three years to be the "clumsy" maid of Lord Zhenbei Xiao Wang, whom she secretly loved. But when Xiao Wang returned to the capital, she witnessed him betrothing to her legitimate elder sister. Her hidden love poems were found, and Xiao Wang's words—"How dare a concubine's daughter covet me?"—pushed her into despair. However, when news of her jumping off a cliff arrived, Xiao Wang held the half piece of sandalwood hairpin she left and finally remembered: the little girl who gave the injured young prince ointment in the peach forest ten years ago was always her. Behind Tan Wan's "death," lies the prime minister's power plot and Xiao Wang's unsaid confession—"I knew it was you all along."
