Red Lantern Plot:

In the depths of the old alley, Lin Wan, who has guarded her "Wan Zhao Lantern Shop" for twenty years, refuses to sell the last red silk lantern—it’s the "heart lantern" she made herself while waiting for her old friend to keep a date. Until Gu Zhao, in a dark green windbreaker, bursts in, saying this lantern is the "unsent apology" his father murmured about on his deathbed. When Gu Zhao opens the faded letter hidden in the lantern for twenty years, Lin Wan finally learns: her old friend didn’t stand her up back then—he was stopped by his family and stuffed all his unsaid words into the lantern’s frame. Two hearts scattered by the rain finally receive the late response under the warm yellow light.
