When she finds her childhood jade pendant, she suddenly gains the ability to see “soul flames” on people’s foreheads—those with dim flames are soon replaced by “Soul Snatchers.” At this point, a mysterious forensic doctor, Gu Shen, comes to her, saying she is a once-in-a-century “Soul Guide” who can sense soul disturbances, and the Soul Snatchers are collecting 100 pure souls to resurrect an ancient evil spirit.
