The Lonely Bird Crosses the Vast Sea Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, a fishergirl, is the "lonely bird" of the village—her parents died in a shipwreck, and she raises her sick younger brother by selling dried fish. To fund his surgery, she takes on her father's unfinished mission: delivering rare grouper fry across the vast sea from the South China Sea reefs to an East China Sea farm, a journey that requires braving the typhoon zone "Ghost's Dread". But before sailing, the seafood shop owner threatens to destroy her boat, and a cold sailor named A Chuan suddenly joins, saying, "I owe your father my life." When the boat is caught in a storm, Xiaoman finds her father's航海 log in the fry crate; the last page reads: "At the end of that sea, lies the answer to make the lonely bird no longer alone..."
