General, Please Stay
General, Please Stay Plot:
Shen Zhixia, an unfavored concubine’s daughter of the Prime Minister’s mansion, enters the palace as a maid to take the blame for her legitimate sister. Late at night, she rescues Gu Zhao, the Northern Town General who was poisoned in the cold palace—why does this powerful man call her “A Yuan” while holding her? Gu Zhao deliberately approaches her to investigate court traitors, but Shen Zhixia is drawn into palace struggles because of his “preference”: framed by her legitimate sister, slandered by the imperial concubine, and even facing execution. But when she closes her eyes to die, Gu Zhao breaks into the palace in armor and sword, exchanging 300,000 soldiers for her position as his legal wife. When Gu Zhao is falsely accused of “colluding with the enemy” and thrown into prison, Shen Zhixia combs through palace archives, exposes the empress’s conspiracy with foreign powers, and saves him with her own hands. Amidst the undercurrent of power, he protects her from the mire to the clouds; she accompanies him from despair to the peak. Finally, they resign from their official positions, plant jasmine in a Jiangnan courtyard, and change “General, Please Stay” to “Husband, dinner is ready.”
