Love Ends in Ruins Plot:

Lin Wan, an old relic restorer, fights to protect a century-old Western-style building in the old town—only to find her boyfriend Lu Zhao, a real estate project manager, leading a demolition team to level this “ruin” for a commercial complex. The college sweethearts are now pitted against each other: Lin Wan discovers an unsent love letter from the building’s former owner, seeing love’s most authentic form; Lu Zhao hides a secret—his mother disappeared here years ago, and demolishing is both a search for her and a way to unravel her “love regret.” On the eve of demolition, they confront each other on the rooftop. Lin Wan cries, “You’re destroying my faith in love,” while Lu Zhao pulls out an old photo of his mother and the building’s owner—revealing her departure was to guard an unspoken love. As bricks fall, they realize: love never ends in destruction, but in the obsession and reconciliation hidden in the rubble, spanning time.
