Blossoming Lanterns Plot:

Every Lantern Festival, Lin Wan goes to the river to release floating lanterns in memory of Chen Mo, her boyfriend who died three years ago—they’d promised to see all the world’s floating lanterns together, but Chen Mo saved a child on his way to their date and stayed forever at 23. This year, just as her lantern drifted away, Lin Wan noticed a small line on it: “I saw your osmanthus cake—is it still warm?” Turning around, she found a man in a khaki trench coat standing behind her—his face was identical to Chen Mo’s! The man, Gu Chuan, said he was just a tourist, yet he wiped sugar from the corner of Lin Wan’s mouth, hummed Chen Mo’s unreleased song, and even knew about the half movie ticket stub she hid under her pillow… When Lin Wan found Chen Mo’s donation certificate and saw the line “Heart Recipient: Gu Chuan,” the floating lanterns by the river had formed a sea of stars—turns out some people never wanted to leave; they just changed their way to turn unfulfilled promises into the next encounter.
