Redemption of the Estranged Plot:

Lin Wan, an emergency doctor, has hated her mother for vanishing without a word ten years ago—until her mother is rushed to her hospital with a cerebral hemorrhage. On the operating table, Lin holds the old notebook her mother clutched: inside are IOUs from her mother’s black-market jobs to pay Lin’s tuition, threatening letters from creditors, and dozens of unsent letters addressed to “Wanwan.” As she fights to save her mother’s life, she dismantles a decade of resentment. This “calamity” turns out to be a lifetime of her mother’s silent “I love you.”
