Never Open for Midnight Visitors Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, a solo suspense writer, moves into an old urban building to meet her deadline, only to be woken by knocks at 3 AM every night—through the peephole, a woman in a dark green cheongsam stands motionless. She asks the property management, who says no such person lives there; neighbor Aunt Zhang turns pale: “That’s Zhou Ning, who went missing ten years ago—she lived in your room!” Lin locks the door, but that night the knocks grow more urgent, with a woman’s sobs: “I’m waiting for the key…” Then she remembers the brass key in the drawer, engraved with “302”—her room number. As she holds the key and approaches the door, the knocks stop. The peephole shows nothing—but the doorknob twists… from the inside!
