Snow on Cang Mountain, No Sign of You Plot:

Yunshen has guarded Cang Mountain for a decade, waiting for her lover A Zhao—who promised to return when snow covers the mountain gate. This year, the snow comes early, and a man in an old military uniform arrives with half a jade pendant carved with "Yunshen", saying A Zhao died seven years ago in disaster relief and asked him to come annually to ease her worry. But Yunshen often sees A Zhao’s figure in the snow at night, even smelling the pine resin he used to carry. Chasing the figure to the cliff, she catches the man burying the other half of the pendant—A Zhao feared she couldn’t bear the pain, so he told his comrade to "lie" to her to let go; the snow figure is the man secretly imitating A Zhao’s back, trying to leave her one last memory. Yet Yunshen touches the old sachet in her arms—pine resin A Zhao gave her before leaving. She knew the truth all along; she just didn’t want to揭穿 it—some waits are for saying goodbye to the past, properly.
