Bewitched by the Illusion of Romance Plot:

Su Wan, a screenwriter of Republican-era dramas, lingers in old alleys to capture the “truth behind romantic illusions” for her script. She accidentally crashes into Cheng Yan, a man in a moon-white long gown—he claims to be an old bookstore owner, chats with her about *The Peony Pavilion*, and shields her from dripping rain under the eave on a rainy night. Su Wan thinks she’s met her “perfect hero” from the script. Until one day, she finds a missing person photo in Cheng Yan’s drawer—a woman who looks exactly like the female lead in her script. And Cheng Yan’s notebook is filled with notes on “investigating his sister’s disappearance.” It turns out all the “romantic gestures” were his ploy to draw her in; her “fictional story” had long become someone’s “real clue” to find family.
