Serendipity on the Night Shift Plot:

Lin Xiaoman works the night shift at an old-town hospital to save up for her mother’s surgery. For four weeks straight, every night at 10 PM, delivery guy Chen Mo drops off a bowl of Yangchun noodles with an extra marinated egg, saying it’s “for the hardest worker here.” Xiaoman thinks it’s a store promotion—until she saves Chen Mo’s grandma from a sudden heart failure. Then the truth comes out: Chen Mo’s mom was a night-shift nurse here who died a decade ago saving a patient, and he’s been coming every night to carry on her warmth. What’s more, the surgery that saved Xiaoman’s mom years ago was performed by Chen Mo’s mom. When Chen Mo pulls out his mom’s old nurse ID, Xiaoman recognizes the face—the “Aunt Chen” who used to buy her candy as a kid. This night-shift encounter? It’s serendipity, woven by the unfinished kindness of two generations.
