After three years of devastating drought, Lin Wan flees famine with her terminally ill mother. On the brink of death in a broken temple, she suddenly binds to the "Famine Redemption System"—complete tasks to exchange for food and medicine. But the tasks grow torturous: the system forces her to approach Zhao, the refugee leader, the boy who once sneaked sweet potatoes to her, now labeled a "grain robber." When she tricks Zhao into revealing the grain stash, she finds it’s all brown rice for starving children.
