Xiaoman tells him how their family survived the worst three months of the apocalypse with these supplies, and Lin Chuan starts to believe her. But when he asks, “Will I survive?”, Xiaoman’s eyes well up. “You’ll see in three days,” she says. Just then, the TV breaks in: “Anomalous meteor showers incoming in 72 hours.” Staring at the last half-box of instant noodles on the shelf, Lin Chuan realizes—this isn’t a purchase.
