May I Be Like You, Unbroken Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, an office "doormat," is used to swallowing her anger—colleagues pass off dirty work to her, her boyfriend cheats and accuses her of "being unreasonable." Until Shen Sa, a veteran female soldier, moves next door. Shen Sa was injured during a peacekeeping mission but opened a garage with gritted teeth. When thugs come for protection money, she picks up a wrench and stands at the door: "This shop is what I fought for with my life. Want to smash it? Get through me first!" Touched by this "unbreakable" spirit, Xiaoman starts to say "no": refusing to work overtime for colleagues, dumping her cheating boyfriend, even standing with Shen Sa against the thugs. But just as she becomes "like Shen Sa," Shen Sa disappears, leaving a letter and an old photo—little Xiaoman crying in Shen Sa's arms, with police lights in the background. It turns out Shen Sa is the "hero sister" who saved her from human traffickers years ago. Now hospitalized with old injuries, she let Xiaoman realize: she's never an imitator, but has toughness in her bones. When Xiaoman holds a wrench against the thugs at the garage door, she knows she's finally become "like you."
