Forensic Daqian Plot:

On her first day as a rookie forensic scientist, Gu Daqian stumbles upon a murder case where the victim’s fingernails hold hair from her mother—who disappeared a decade ago and was labeled a “husband-killer” by the neighborhood. Determined to clear her mother’s name, she defies colleagues’ doubts and uses her scalpel to cut through layers of deception, only to unearth the truth behind Criminal Police Lin Shen’s father’s death. The sarcastic yet meticulous Lin, initially dismissive, is gradually moved by Daqian’s persistence. As they bicker and piece together clues, they realize all cases tie back to an unsolved “rainy night arson murder” from twenty years ago. When the truth finally emerges, Daqian understands: she’s not just searching for her mother—she’s chasing a “living witness” buried for two decades.
