I Heard Mom's Inner Voice Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, a senior high school student, always finds her mom Chen Guifen “overbearing” — forcing her to drink hot milk before morning self-study, checking her schoolbag for wrong answers after night class, and even secretly changing her college major from Chinese Literature (her dream) to Accounting (for “better job prospects”). Until one morning, Xiaoman suddenly hears Mom’s “inner thoughts” from the kitchen: “Warm the milk three times — she threw the cup last time it was too hot” “I changed her major back; I read her diary last night, she wants to be a writer…” The tenderness hidden in “nagging” hits her ears. She then notices Mom rubbing her waist — twisted yesterday while moving review materials for her — while she’d complained about Mom being “meddlesome” at the time. Turns out, even the closest people need “listening” to “understand.”
