A Forbidden Family Video Plot:

On the anniversary of her mother's death, Lin Xiaoman finds a video tape labeled "Never Watch" while sorting through her mother's belongings. When she plays it, she sees her 25-year-old mother holding baby her, crying and confessing: "Your dad isn't your biological father. Back then, I was kicked out of the house, and a stranger saved me, but he disappeared later..." What's more surprising is that the address at the end of the video points to the flower vendor who often holds an umbrella for her outside her company building. When Xiaoman arrives at the stall, the old man takes out a video shot by her mother last year—in it, her mother squats in front of the stall and says, "I'm too ashamed to see you, but Xiaoman is afraid of rain—please hold an umbrella for her more." The old man cries and admits, "I've been looking for your mother for thirty years, too afraid to recognize her." Looking at the two tapes, Xiaoman finally understands the meaning of her mother's "forbidden to watch": it's not concealment, but fear of hurting her, and a wish to let her choose whether to embrace this 30-year-late family love.
