Lin Xiaoman, a young mourner in a Northeast Chinese town, just takes over her grandfather’s “Fushuntang” mourner team when she gets an order for a “living funeral”—the dying tycoon Zhou Tai insists on holding a funeral for himself while he’s still alive, demanding the team to stay with him “until the end”. But as Xiaoman follows through, she finds Zhou Tai’s son secretly sabotaging the funeral, seemingly eager to speed up his father’s death.
