Singing to the Mountains and Seas
Singing to the Mountains and Seas Plot:
Lin Xiaoman, a small-town singer, gave up her folk song dream to work and raise money for her critically ill grandmother. Gu Xingyuan, a top music producer struggling with creative block, returned to the mountains for inspiration and accidentally heard her dialect song dedicated to the mountains and seas, which deeply moved him. They clashed over “song copyright”—Gu wanted to help her return to the stage, but Xiaoman closed herself off due to her grandmother’s condition. Until her grandmother took out an old songbook hidden for decades and said, “I most want to hear your song for the mountains and seas.” When Gu performed Xiaoman’s song on a national stage, Xiaoman finally picked up the microphone in front of the screen, singing for her grandmother and her unfulfilled dream.
