Birds Over the Abyss Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, the principal ballerina, is a "perfect swan" crafted by her mother—every step on stage is as precise as a machine. Her world shifts when she rescues Chen Mo, a deep-sea diver, from the sea. This man, who sees the abyss as his home, takes her to sneak out of the theater for the first time to watch the tides, and shows her the starlight under the sea with a diving mask—that’s the "freedom" she’s never known. Their budding love is torn apart by her mother’s opposition (calling Chen Mo "unstable and dangerous") and the trauma of Chen Mo’s teammate’s death in a rescue. Just as Xiaoman decides to give up the international competition to run to Chen Mo, he goes missing during an emergency rescue. As "The Dying Swan" spins on stage, Xiaoman clutches Chen Mo’s diver ID, with the words "Wait for me—let’s see the birds under the sea" on the back. In the sea breeze, only her blue dress remains, like a bird finally breaking free from its string, drifting toward the abyss Chen Mo loved most.
