Reluctant to Refuse Plot:

Su Xiaoman, a closed-off ancient book restorer, is suddenly confronted by Lu Zhao—her first love who vanished without a word years ago—begging for a second chance. Meanwhile, Chen Mo, her kind neighbor, finally works up the courage to confess his feelings. She instinctively tries to push both away: rejecting Lu Zhao’s “late affection” and Chen Mo’s “sudden intrusion.” But while restoring a Qing Dynasty woman’s love diary, she uncovers the truth: Lu Zhao left to pay off her late father’s massive debt, and Chen Mo had helped him cover it up.
