Her Devotion Made My Mediocrity Shine

Her Devotion Made My Mediocrity Shine Plot:

Su Yan, a poor scholar, failed the imperial exam three times and was about to burn his books in despair when mysterious help kept coming—annotations fixing his "clumsy essays" appeared on his desk at night, someone threw an inkstone to distract bullies when he was cornered, and silver coins always slipped under his door when he couldn't afford ink. When he finally became the top scholar and tracked down the helper, he was shocked: it was Shen Zhaozhao, his ex-fiancée (whom he'd rejected for "status mismatch") and now the daughter of a powerful minister. She smiled through tears: "I wanted to bet—could someone mediocre succeed with true love?" But then she coughed up blood—years ago, she'd knelt in the snow for two hours to bring him a cotton robe, catching a fatal lung disease with only three months left. Meanwhile, her father was coming to arrest Su for "breaking the engagement." Holding her cold body, Su realized his success wasn't from talent—it was her three years of hidden devotion, her whole life traded for his. But the words "I love you too" would never reach her ears…
