Lingering Snow on the Steps, No Spring in Sight Plot:

Lin Wan returns to the old alley to sort her grandmother’s relics, only to find lingering snow on the bluestone steps—just like three years ago, when Gu Zhao held her hands and said, “I’ll marry you when spring comes,” then vanished overnight. Tonight, a letter with Gu Zhao’s handwriting appears in the mailbox: “If I don’t come back, go see the plum tree in the old yard.” Prying open the locked yard, she finds a rusted box hidden in the withered plum tree—inside are their engagement ring and a medical report: Gu Zhao was diagnosed with ALS a month before he promised “spring.” The snow never waited for spring, and he never waited for his body to fail—he froze all his love into the lingering snow on the steps, too afraid to let her see him fade away.
