Modern office worker Wang Lu accidentally travels to the fantasy world of Sword Spirit Mountain, becoming the outer disciple with the "worst spiritual root" recognized by everyone. He is ridiculed by fellow disciples, framed by a scheming senior brother, and even dismissed by the headmaster. However, he accidentally activates the inheritance of the ancient sword spirit "Liuli" and gains the "empty spiritual root" that can devour the spiritual energy of all things! From then on, he starts his counterattack—breaking through thousand-year-old secret realms to obtain divine artifacts, slaying evil demons to save the common people, exposing the headmaster's younger brother's power-seizing conspiracy, and打脸 those who once trampled on him one by one. He also goes from being a "bickering enemy" with the quirky junior sister Feng Ling to a "life-and-death partner," and their feelings gradually grow during adventures. When Sword Spirit Mountain faces the extinction crisis of the evil cultivator alliance, can Wang Lu use the power of inheritance to protect his sect and become the true "Lord of Sword Spirit"?
