Love in the Ideal Era Plot:

In the ideal 1990s, set in a state-owned enterprise compound, Lin Weidong, a machinery factory technician, falls for Bai Xiaowen, a dancer in the city's troupe. In that era that values ideals and responsibility, Lin is looked down upon by Bai's father due to his ordinary background. They secretly fall in love despite family opposition. When Lin saves up to propose, the factory downsizes suddenly and he is forced to go south for business. Fearing he will hold Xiaowen back, he leaves a letter and avoids her deliberately, cutting off contact. Twenty years later, as a technical director in a foreign company, Lin reunites with Bai, now a middle school teacher, at a city nostalgia exhibition. Both hide their feelings, and each holds a token they never gave back then.
