In Republican-era Shanghai, when his fiancée vanishes with only a suicide note reading 'Spring cannot be found', tycoon Gu Shaoqing hires journalist Su Wan to investigate. Posing as servants at his ancestral Jiangnan estate, they uncover a chilling pattern: every household avoids mentioning the 'Third Miss'.
