Want to Ascend? First Dismantle the Family and Die Laughing! Plot:

Su Mo, a cultivator with a "karma magnet" constitution in the cultivation world, attracts so many karmic ties that heavenly tribulations chase him everywhere. On the brink of ascension, his master orders: "No ascension until you cut all mortal ties!" He returns to the mortal family that adopted him—a marriage-obsessed mother, a wine-loving father, and a sister who steals his spiritual fruits. He plans to "act cold to sever ties," but every attempt turns into a comedy: leaving silver gets sewn into his clothes with "The bread outside isn't as fragrant as home's"; pretending to be绝情 with "I won't come back" is met with his sister rushing over with a tanghulu yelling "Brother, this one's sweet!"; making up an excuse to "travel far" is stopped by his father holding homemade osmanthus wine: "Drink with me first." Shockingly, his family has long known he's a cultivator and has been using mundane life to dissolve his karma. As ascension nears, Su Mo realizes: the "family" he wanted to "dismantle" is actually the "Tao" he should hold onto—what he needs to cut isn't his family, but his fear of being loved!
