Shedding the Scales Plot:

Lin Shen, an aquarium diver, harbors a secret—a pale blue scale-like birthmark on her lower back burns when touched by water. Until mysterious visitor Gu Chuan appears: his fingertips brushing the birthmark turns pain into warmth. Gu Chuan is from the Deep Sea Tribe, sent to retrieve "unscaled returnees"—Lin Shen’s birthmark is an unawakened tribal seal. Shedding it means forgetting human memories and returning to the deep sea.
