Homeward Dream on the Ancient Plain
Homeward Dream on the Ancient Plain Plot:
Corporate worker Xiaoyue is drowning in the chaos of city life when a reading of Bai Juyi's 'the luxuriant grasses on the ancient plain' triggers vivid childhood memories of her Inner Mongolia grassland home. In a dream one night, she journeys back to the pastoral scenes, facing her ailing mother's poignant cry, 'Mom, I want to come home.' But a looming promotion crisis in the city forces her to choose between abandoning work to care for her mother or pursuing urban success. As emotions clash, a twist emerges: Xiaoyue's decision to return leads to her mother's miraculous recovery, yet reveals a long-buried family secret—the grassland was a parallel world woven by her mother to test her. A suspense-filled nostalgic odyssey blurs reality and fantasy, posing the heart-wrenching question: where is true home?
