The Hills Are Covered with Azaleas

Lin Wan, a Beijing advertising professional, returns to her grandmother's home in the Dabie Mountains after her grandmother's passing. While sorting through belongings, she finds a red cloth bag at the bottom of a trunk—inside is a faded half-diary from 1975, in which her grandmother wrote about a promise with educated youth Chen Mo: "When the hills are covered with azaleas, we'll get married." But Chen Mo disappeared suddenly after fighting a forest fire, and her grandmother waited a lifetime. To fulfill her grandmother's wish, Lin Wan sets out on a journey to find the truth and unexpectedly meets Zhou Ming, a young man guarding the mountains—he is Chen Mo's grandson. As the wind blows, the red cloth bag slips and a crumpled note from Chen Mo falls out: "If I forget you, you must remember to find me."
