Lin Xiaoman, a senior three underachiever, is desperate to get into medical school to earn money for her gravely ill grandmother, but she’s mocked by her class as “hopeless” due to her bottom-of-the-class grades. Until she finds a glowing book called *The Universal Library* in an old bookstore—reading physics makes her a contest genius instantly, reading anatomy lets her diagnose her grandma’s hidden illness, and even reading a recipe lets her make the osmanthus cake her grandma loves most. But the book’s title page has a blood-written curse: “For every skill gained, lose a precious memory.” As she gets closer to the admission line, she starts forgetting her grandma’s voice, the memory of planting osmanthus trees together as kids… In this gamble of trading memories for a future, how can she hold onto both her most precious person and her hope of turning her life around?
