Picturesque Rivers and Mountains Echo Through Ages Plot:

Su Huayan, a female painter of the Da Ning Dynasty, inherits her ancestor’s mission to guard the *Thousand Li Rivers and Mountains Painting*, which holds the dynasty’s fate. On her way to deliver the painting, she meets Gu Zhao, a Beimo assassin disguised as a down-and-out scholar—his task is to destroy the painting and cut off Da Ning’s fortune. As they travel together, Gu Zhao is moved by Su’s obsession with “protecting the land with a brush,” while Su discovers Gu’s cruelty hides a pain of “ending Beimo’s wars.” When the painting’s secret is revealed—the so-called “national fate” is actually the ancestor’s prophecy of “all under heaven as one,” they are forced to stand against each other.
