From Loser to Top Chef: The Culinary Rise of a Mountain Boy
From Loser to Top Chef: The Culinary Rise of a Mountain Boy Plot:
In a poor 1970s mountain village, Chen Erniu—dubbed "the idiot" by everyone—accidentally stumbles into an abandoned kitchen while protecting his childhood sweetheart Lin Xiaomei from a bully. There, he finds a late Qing imperial chef’s recipe book and the "wok hei secret" (the essence of wok-cooked flavor). Soon, his "iron-pot stewed goose" cures the old village leader’s stomachache, and his "osmanthus honey lotus root" wows a city food critic. But trouble comes: the bully colludes with a greedy restaurant owner to steal his secrets and force Xiaomei into a wealthy marriage. Chen bets everything on the county "Top Chef Competition", where his "firewood-braised ginseng soup"—blending rural heart with imperial skill—wins him dignity, saves his love, and makes him the legendary "Mountain Valley Top Chef" known for miles around.
