Mountain Sprite

Mountain Sprite Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, a girl from western Hunan, returns to her hometown after her grandmother’s mysterious death. While sorting through her grandmother’s belongings, she finds repeated mentions in her diary of “the mountain sprite guarding an unfulfilled promise.” The forester A Chu warns her repeatedly not to approach the old forest behind the village, yet every night Xiaoman hears her grandmother’s voice calling from the woods. When she sneaks into the old forest, she sees a “person” covered in pine needles with red-rimmed eyes—A Chu suddenly appears and reveals that this is the mountain sprite who has guarded the forest for a century. And her grandmother’s death is exactly related to a “bargain” she made with the sprite fifty years ago……
