Don't Fear, I'm Daoist Wu Yang Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, an overworked ad planner who burns the midnight oil, rents a dim old apartment in the old town to save money—only to be haunted by recurring dreams of an elderly woman in a moon-white cheongsam weeping for her "bracelet." Even more eerie: she can smell faint sandalwood during the day. On the brink of collapse, a young daoist in a faded robe, munching on a pancake, suddenly appears at her door: "Don't fear, I'm Daoist Wu Yang. The granny in your house... I failed to chant for her reincarnation ten years ago." Xiaoman curses him as a "charlatan" and tries to shut the door—until she sees the cheongsam granny sitting on her bed, touching her wrist at midnight. Wu Yang shows up just in time, pulling out an old pouch embroidered with lopsided characters for "Peace," and whispers: "Granny, I snuck out to play back then and didn't deliver your bracelet to your granddaughter... Now, I've brought it back." It turns out the bracelet on Xiaoman's wrist is exactly the one the granny lost years ago; and Wu Yang's "wandering" for a decade was just him searching for his "unfinished business." When the "unreliable daoist" meets the "tough-talking corporate slave," a story of regret and redemption unfolds quietly amid the osmanthus fragrance of the old house.
