The Wrath of the River God Plot:

A sudden flood strikes a small fishing village, and the villagers insist it’s the “wrath of the River God,” demanding to sacrifice the girl Ah Zhu to appease him. Ah Zhu, who once stole a jade pendant from the River God’s temple to save her terminally ill mother, believes she’s the cause—until she meets the River God at the brink of death. Turns out, the River God isn’t angry at all; he’s suffering from the polluted river while trying to protect the villagers! The real culprit is a greedy medicine merchant who poisoned the water to lower fish prices and monopolize the trade. Ah Zhu decides to clear the River God’s name, and as they uncover the truth, they fall for each other. But a 20-year-old cold case of the “River God Sacrifice” buried in the riverbed quietly drags them into a deeper vortex…
