In the 1990s old industrial zone of Northeast China, Zhou Yuanchao and Li Guilan, a couple who grew up in the factory compound, just got their marriage certificate when they hit the wave of state-owned enterprise layoffs. When snow covered the big chimney of the old factory area, they reunited under the old locust tree where they fell in love. Guilan held the grilled cold noodles, crying and scolding: "Zhou Yuanchao, you can't get rid of me for the rest of your life!" The old neighbors gathered around laughing, and the smoke from the chimney drifted into the distance, carrying all the unspoken care.
