The Caged Gardenia

The Caged Gardenia Plot:

Lin Zhi is the "caged gardenia" of the Lin Group, a real estate giant—every detail from her clothes to her engagement is meticulously planned by her father as "family prestige". Until she escapes into an old town alley and bumps into Ji Ye, who's crouching by the wall painting gardenias. This street artist, too poor to buy white paint (he uses chalk dust instead), dares to tuck a dewy gardenia behind her ear: "You should smell fresh flowers, not the dead scent in perfume bottles." When her father's bodyguards kick open the studio door, Ji Ye tears down the canvas covered in gardenias and wraps it around her: "Either run with me, or be a potted flower forever." What Lin Zhi doesn't know is that Ji Ye has a gardenia specimen in his pocket—one she secretly put in a charity box at 17, the only warmth he kept when the orphanage funded by the Lin Group was burned down.
