Gone is the Full Moon Over South Town Plot:

Lin Xiaoman has guarded the old bookstore beside the ancient locust tree in South Town for ten years, waiting for Zhou Shiyuan—the boy who pinky-promised her to "watch the full moon over South Town every Mid-Autumn Festival." But when Zhou returns in glory, South Town is being demolished: the old locust tree is to be cut down, the bookstore torn down, and even the bright full moon in their memories is about to be swallowed by high-rise shadows. Zhou thinks Xiaoman has forgotten their vow—until Mid-Autumn Night, as excavators near the tree, Xiaoman pulls out a candy wrapper from a glass jar. It’s the one he gave her before leaving, with "Wait for me" scribbled on the back. Staring at the moon hanging between demolition buildings, they realize: what matters isn’t the "moon of the past," but the unsaid words, "I’ve always been here."
