Her Captive in the Tank Plot:

Lin Xiaoman is a notorious "tough breeder" at the aquarium, but she's uncharacteristically gentle with the silent silver-tailed mermaid at the tank's bottom—she squats to speak softly while feeding it and carefully avoids its injured tail fin when cleaning the tank. As the pursuers close in on the aquarium and Shen Yan's identity unfolds, Lin Xiaoman realizes with a start: she thought she was the "keeper", but her heart was already stolen by this "tank dweller"; this game of "control" and "counter-control" reversed roles from the very beginning.
