The 9-Year-Old Detective

The 9-Year-Old Detective Plot:

Nine-year-old Lin Xiaotang is the neighborhood's famous "Little Sherlock"—no detail is too small for him, from the crease of a candy wrapper to the color of cat hair. Recently, five pets have gone missing in the community, and his mother, a community police officer, is so swamped she even forgot the birthday cake he'd waited half a year for. Angry yet determined, Xiaotang investigates and follows the custom embroidery thread on the pet collars—only to find it leads to Uncle Zhang, his mother's old partner, who always squats to build detective puzzles with him. When the truth comes out, he realizes his mother's "no time" is to protect more people, and his "little detective skills" are exactly her warmest backing.
