Steamed Osmanthus
Steamed Osmanthus Plot:
The old house in Jiangnan's "Osmanthus Lane" holds Su Wangu's pain—her mother disappeared ten years ago with a steamer of osmanthus cake. To find the truth, she quits her Beijing job and returns home, only to encounter Lin Shen, a developer come to take back the house. Lin Shen was the lonely boy her mother saved years ago, now grown into a man with a mission. From confrontation to searching her mother's diary together, they discover each layer of the osmanthus cake's sugar frosting hides a secret: the first is nostalgia, the second is guilt, and the third is her mother's unsaid "I love you". In Lin Shen's drawer, there's an osmanthus candy from her mother with a note: "When you grow up, I'll teach you the third layer of frosting." When the last steamer of osmanthus cake is ready, the fragrance carries not just scent, but the truth—her mother never left. She spent ten years bringing two lonely souls back together.
